I have never done much to take care of my skin. No creams. No facemasks. No special cleansers.
So when I started to develop a skin problem on my face I didn’t know where to start. Everything I put on my skin made it feel like it was burning, similar to when you have a mild dose of sunburn, and itch like crazy. Even water made my face feel like I wanted to peel my face off…literally.
I also developed white heads, not the pimply spotty kind the hard lumps that develop under the skin and are called a milium cyst. These white spots occur when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin. Keratin is a strong protein that’s typically found in skin tissues, hair, and nail cells.
There are number of ways that these pesky little white lumps can be removed such as using a sterile needle and break them out from under the skin…..ummm…not for me thank you.
Chemical peel – where the dermatologist peels of the top layers of your skin so that the new skin shows through. After seeing Samantha is Sex In The City and how she looked after having it done in one episode then this is something that definitely does not appeal (pun intended) to me….thank you very much.
And many more just as awful sounding (to me) treatments.
I was thinking I would never find anything suitable and could only imagine it getting worse.
Then I found the konjac sponge and…wow…what a difference it made.
If you have not found these wonder sponges then you should add them to your skin care routine.
The Konjac Sponge is made from the Konjac potato or Konnyaku is a perennial plant native to Asia and can be found growing wild at very high altitudes. A totally natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories. The plant is naturally alkaline, which leaves skin perfectly balanced.
Konjac has been used in Korea, Japan and China for over 1,500 years as medicine, food, a dieting aid and a beauty product. Due to the plant’s claimed health giving properties, the Konjac Sponge was originally created for delicate baby skin and is perfect for adults too.
The Konjac Sponge Company is the Purple Nanny supplier of this wonderful beauty aid and this is why…..

It is definitely not an over night cure for skin conditions but it is for every day use if you feel you need it.
It is an effective make up remover; just add water for water-based cosmetics or a drop of your favourite cleanser for regular makeup.
Its great for giving your skin gentle exfoliation. Its great for leaving your face feeling soft and smooth.
How do you use the Konjac Sponge.
Before use, rinse and hydrate your Konjac Sponge in warm water. Squeeze out any excess water and gently cleanse skin. It is not necessary to use cleansing products, but a small amount can be added to your Konjac Sponge if desired. If a cleanser is added, the sponge will help the product work harder and go further.
After use, always rinse your sponge well and allow to dry in an airy place. Be careful not to wring it out as this may damage the delicate plant fibres, just squeeze between your flattened hands. You can also pop your clean sponge in the fridge to keep it fresh and cool, which helps it last even longer. Alternatively, your sponge is happy to be aired on a radiator or heated towel rail.
It will shrink and harden when it dries out, this is perfectly natural, simply allow it to absorb water and rehydrate before using again. Never use the sponge when dry.
The better care of the sponge, the longer it will last. Never leave the sponge in the shower or in a pool of water. Your Konjac Sponge is a 100% natural vegetable product and should last 2 to 3 months. Once it starts to look tired or breaks down, replace it.
The Konjac Sponge can be safely composted or used in the garden to help water your plants by holding moisture.
Never leave a child unattended with a sponge.
Happy skin care.
